Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply to service requests, quotes, appointments and vehicle key work.
Proof of identity and ownership is required
Before carrying out security-sensitive key work, we will require suitable proof of identity and proof that you own or are authorised to use the vehicle.
- Driving licence or other valid photo ID
- V5C vehicle registration certificate (logbook)
- Insurance documentation showing the vehicle
- Lease, rental, company vehicle or other documentation showing authority to use the vehicle
If suitable proof cannot be provided, we will not be able to carry out security-sensitive key work on the vehicle.
1. Service requests
Submitting the online request form, sending a message or calling us creates a service request. It is a request for help, not a confirmed appointment.
We will review the details and contact you about availability, pricing and next steps.
2. Quotes and pricing
Any price given before we see the vehicle is based on the information you provide. If the vehicle, key system or the condition of the vehicle differs from what was described, the price or the feasibility of the work may change.
Where that happens we will explain the position to you before continuing, and you may decide not to proceed.
3. Availability and appointment confirmation
Requested dates and times are subject to availability. An appointment is only confirmed once we have contacted you and confirmed it.
We may need to rearrange an appointment. Where that happens we will let you know as soon as we reasonably can.
4. Vehicle details and customer responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide about yourself and the vehicle, including make, model, year, registration and key or start type.
Incorrect information may mean we attend without the right parts or equipment, or that the work cannot be carried out.
5. Access to the vehicle
You must ensure the vehicle is accessible and that it is lawful and safe for us to work on it in the location provided. This includes parking restrictions, private land permissions and safe working space.
We may decline to work where the location is unsafe or where access cannot be arranged.
6. Proof of identity and proof of ownership or authority
Before carrying out security-sensitive vehicle key work — including key programming, replacement keys and related security work — we require suitable proof of identity and suitable documentation showing that you own or are authorised to use the vehicle.
Examples include a driving licence or other valid photo ID, a V5C registration certificate, insurance documentation showing the vehicle, or lease, rental or company vehicle authorisation.
If satisfactory proof of identity and ownership or authority cannot be provided, we will not carry out security-sensitive key work and the service may be refused.
7. Security-sensitive vehicle work
Vehicle key work gives access to and control of a vehicle. We may decline or stop work at any point where we have reasonable concerns about identity, ownership, authority or the lawfulness of the request.
8. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work unless a different arrangement has been agreed in advance. The accepted payment methods will be confirmed when we confirm your appointment.
9. Cancellations and changes
If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please tell us as early as you can so the slot can be offered to someone else.
Where work has already been started, or parts or keys have been specifically obtained for your vehicle, we will discuss the position with you before any further cost is incurred.
10. Parts and keys
Where keys, fobs, blades or related parts are supplied, they are supplied for the vehicle described by you. Keys supplied by the customer, including keys purchased online, may not be compatible and we cannot accept responsibility for the quality of parts we did not supply.
11. Limitations
Vehicle coverage varies by make, model, year and key system. We do not claim to support every vehicle, and some jobs cannot be completed at the roadside.
Where a fault is outside auto locksmith work, we will tell you rather than continue. Pre-existing damage, wear or faults to locks, barrels, keys or vehicle electronics are not the responsibility of Doorstep Auto Locksmith Glasgow.
12. Contacting you
We will use the contact details you provide to deal with your request. Please make sure the number you give us is reachable, particularly if you are waiting at the vehicle.
